As a licensed and certified teacher in Washington, DC, I am passionate about helping students build confidence, develop strong academic foundations, and discover their love of learning. I currently teach 1st grade in Capitol Hill as a teacher with the District of Columbia Public Schools, where I work every day to create engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning experiences for young learners.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in English and my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Howard University. Throughout my career, I have worked with students across a wide range of ages and abilities. As a classroom teacher, I have taught students in grades K–3, and as a tutor, I have supported learners from kindergarten through 12th grade. I also have extensive experience working with students with special needs, tailoring instruction to meet their individual learning styles and strengths.
I believe that every child learns differently, and that meaningful growth begins by meeting each student where they are. I work closely with families to create realistic, personalized goals that support both academic achievement and confidence. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning. Building trust, fostering strong relationships with students and their families, and creating individualized learning experiences are at the heart of my teaching philosophy. These authentic connections are what ultimately empower students to reach their full potential and experience lasting success.
I am committed to providing patient, engaging, and personalized instruction that helps every learner thrive.
