Julie Torrence is a Special Education Advocate and Consultant with more than 31 years of experience helping students, families and educators achieve positive outcomes.  She is a retired special educator and instructional leader who is dedicated to empowering families with the support they need to successfully navigate the special education process.

 

During her 21 year career with Montgomery County Public Schools  Julie served exclusively in special education.  Most recently she was an Instructional Specialist in the Office of Special Education, where she supported teams from 36 schools. In this role, she coached teachers, collaborated with school leaders, provided professional development and helped ensure that students with disabilities receive individualized instruction with their special education services.

 

Julie partners with families every step of the way.  Her goal is to build collaborative relationships with schools and families, ensuring that every child’s unique strengths and needs remain at the center of each decision.
